We have a very real concern about the increasing homeless population camping out in Rose City Park. It started in earnest 3-4 weeks ago with 2-3 occasional campers and is increasing daily. Wednesday evening there were approximately 6-8 people and this evening, Friday, June 26th there are 8-10 people, 3-4 cars or vans some with out of state license plates. We are concerned about the increase in population of homeless campers, their carts, and vehicles. We have called the police and they have responded when there have been incidents of drugs and domestic violence but they say their hands are tied as well. The calls are recorded in police/city/neighborhood incident documents which reflect livability of a neighborhood. With the continued calls to the police all home values will decrease because of the number of police calls that are made for our neighborhood park. Is it possible to have the Neighborhood Association make a plea to the city to assist in the homeless camper issue?
Hi Mary,

Thank you for your post!! Tamara
